Mobile access to information improves the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of criminal justice work.
Mobile applications offer access to information when and where the information is needed and allows officers to complete their tasks more easily. JNET entered the world of mobile applications with a PennDOT Driver Information mobile app that includes photographs, demographic information, and driving records. In addition, the facial recognition application includes a mobile component. Individuals with facial recognition access can take an image of a an unknown individual and email it to the facial recognition system which will run a lights-out search and return any results to the individuals tablet or smartphone.
Based on the success of these efforts, a multi-year, agency-wide strategy has been developed to migrate all applications into the mobile space. In the future, JNET will be developing mobile applications that are platform neutral and can be used by a variety of mobile devices.
